Project EcoFlow

Objective:

The objective of our campaign, Project Ecoflow by The Girl Foundation, was to raise awareness among corporates about the significance of providing biodegradable sanitary pads to women in the workplace. Our aim was to create period-positive environments while promoting sustainable menstruation practices.

Campaign:

We initiated a comprehensive campaign to engage and educate corporates about the importance of menstrual hygiene in the workplace. We conducted awareness sessions and workshops, highlighting the impact of menstrual health on women’s well-being and productivity. We emphasized the significance of providing biodegradable sanitary pads as an eco-friendly and sustainable solution.

To facilitate the adoption of sustainable menstruation practices, we partnered with manufacturers of biodegradable sanitary pads and provided corporates with information and resources to make informed decisions. We presented case studies and success stories from organizations that had already implemented sustainable menstruation practices, showcasing the positive impact on employee satisfaction, health, and the environment.

Additionally, we offered guidance and support to corporates in implementing period-positive policies. This included setting up appropriate disposal systems for sanitary products, ensuring privacy and accessibility of menstrual hygiene products in washrooms, and fostering an open and inclusive work culture that destigmatizes periods and promotes dialogue.

Outcome/Impact:

Through Project Ecoflow, we successfully raised awareness among corporates about the importance of providing biodegradable sanitary pads in the workplace. By promoting sustainable menstruation practices, we encouraged corporates to reduce their environmental footprint and contribute to a healthier planet.

The campaign resulted in positive changes within workplaces, making them more inclusive and supportive of women’s menstrual health. By adopting period-positive policies and providing access to biodegradable sanitary pads, corporates created an environment where women felt valued, comfortable, and empowered to manage their periods effectively. This, in turn, contributed to enhanced productivity, reduced absenteeism, and improved overall well-being among female employees.

Moreover, Project Ecoflow played a significant role in spreading awareness about sustainable menstruation practices beyond the workplace. By partnering with corporates, we extended the reach of the campaign and inspired individuals to embrace eco-friendly alternatives for menstrual hygiene in their personal lives as well.

Overall, Project Ecoflow made substantial progress in transforming workplaces into period-positive spaces that prioritize the well-being of women and the environment.
