Our Story: How it All Began in 2017
In 2017, Rohini Naidu, an actress and a passionate speaker for girls' rights and empowerment, embarked on a journey to make a tangible difference in the lives of girls around the world. Witnessing the struggles and inequalities faced by girls in our state, especially when it comes to education and menstruation, Rohini Naidu was inspired to take action and create lasting change.
With a strong belief in the transformative power of education and the potential of every girl, Rohini Naidu founded The Girl Foundation. Fuelled by her vision and determination, she set out to create an organisation that would empower girls and provide them with the resources and opportunities they need to overcome period poverty, educational barriers and stigmas of the society.
Starting from humble beginnings, Rohini and a dedicated team of supporters worked tirelessly to lay the foundation for The Girl Foundation. They developed innovative programs and initiatives, focusing on education, mentorship, menstrual healthcare, and advocacy, to address the unique challenges faced by girls.
Rohini's leadership and passion served as a catalyst for change, inspiring others to join the cause. As the word spread, individuals, organizations, and communities rallied behind The Girl Foundation, sharing a common commitment to creating a more equitable world for girls.
