Objective:

The objective of our campaign, Project Period by The Girl Foundation, was to provide underprivileged students with access to sanitary pads and educate them about menstrual hygiene.

Campaign:

We implemented a multi-faceted campaign to address the menstrual hygiene needs of underprivileged students. Firstly, we partnered with local organizations, schools, and community centers to identify and reach out to students who lacked access to sanitary pads. We conducted awareness sessions on menstrual hygiene, dispelling myths and providing accurate information on menstrual health and hygiene practices.

To ensure that the students had access to sanitary pads, we organized donation drives, reaching out to individuals, businesses, and organizations for contributions. We collected and distributed sanitary pads to the students, prioritizing regular supplies to meet their ongoing needs.

In addition to providing sanitary pads, we focused on education and awareness. Our campaign included workshops and interactive sessions on menstrual hygiene management, where we discussed topics such as proper pad usage, hygiene practices, and the importance of menstrual health. We also distributed educational materials, such as brochures and pamphlets, to reinforce the knowledge and encourage further learning.

Outcome/Impact:

Through Project Period, we were able to address a crucial aspect of menstrual health and hygiene for underprivileged students. By providing them with access to sanitary pads and educating them about proper menstrual hygiene practices, we aimed to reduce health risks, improve their overall well-being, and prevent potential disruptions in their education.

The campaign not only met the immediate needs of the students but also fostered a sense of dignity and empowerment. By removing barriers related to menstruation, we helped create a conducive environment for them to focus on their studies and pursue their aspirations without hindrance. The knowledge and awareness imparted through the campaign will have a lasting impact on their lives, equipping them with essential information for a healthy and confident approach to menstrual hygiene.
